Our Work
Sexual & Reproductive health

Through innovative and strategic use of the law, we work to advance women's reproductive health in all its dimensions, particularly by promoting the decriminalization of abortion and expanding access to legal and safe abortion services.
To this end, we collaborate with civil society organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean, support regional initiatives, conduct legal research to produce evidence-based insights, and use litigation and other legal actions as tools to drive reform in national laws and public policies.
Ríos supports over 30 civil society organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean in developing legal strategies tailored to national contexts and local priorities. This collective effort has led to progress in the decriminalization of abortion, the elimination of barriers to access to abortion services, and the defense of progress in the face of constant risk of backlash.
Through partnerships with organizations, networks, and key actors across the region, we also foster knowledge exchange and shared learning, strengthening local capacities and building collective power.
