Our People

Analía Banfi is the Deputy Executive Director of Ríos. An Uruguayan attorney specializing in international human rights law, she also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law.

Prior to joining Ríos, Analía spent 15 years at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, where she held several roles and worked across a wide range of human rights issues in the region. She holds degrees in law and international relations from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay, a master’s degree in human rights and humanitarian law from Université de Paris II, Panthéon–Assas in France, and a certificate in international migration studies from Georgetown University. She is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English, Portuguese, and French.
